                                    : Typhoid Fever :
This disease is known by various names:  Gastric Fever, Enteric Fever etc.

Cause:
Bacteria:  ‘Bacterium Salmonella Typhi’
Transmission (spread):
It is spread only from Human to Human. No any other animals carry this disease.
The bacteria of Typhoid fever spread through poor hygiene habits and poor public sanitation condition.
It is also spread by flying insects, specially fly. It spread by contaminated water or food with the feces of an infected person. 
Bacteria(Typhi) is enters through the mouth. Bacteria spend 1-3 weeks in the intestine. Thus Bacteria is spread between individuals by direct contact with the feces of an infected person.
After this time, Bacteria makes its way through the intestinal wall and into the bloodstream and then  it spreads into other tissues and organs.
‘Typhoid fever’  is most common In India and More than 1 to 2 millions cases of ‘Typhoid Fever’ are occurs per year.

Sign & Symptoms:
They may vary from mild to severe and usually begin in 6 to 30 days after exposure.
High grade fever 104 °F.
Weakness.
Person is too tired to get up.
Headache.
Cough.
Nasal bleeding (epistaxis) is seen in a quarter of cases.
Abdominal pain.
Constipation.
Diarrhea is uncommon.
Vomiting is not usually severe.
Patient becomes very much exhausted and   emaciated.
Feeling of malaise.
Rose spots on lower chest and abdomen in around every 3rd. patient.
Enlarged Spleen.
Liver is enlarged and tender.
Intestinal Perforation & it is frequently fatal which may occur without alarming.
Pnemonia
Acute Bronchitis etc.
         
 Ages affected:
0 To 5  years           →          Rare.
6 To 60+  years       →         Common.
Children and youngsters are most commonly affected.
   
  Diagnosis:
‘Typhoid fever’ is diagnosed by various Blood Tests & other laboratory   investigations.
       
 Treatment:
Typhoid fever is treating with antibiotic medicines. Hospitalization is necessary in severe infection also surgery is mandatory in acute & very serious condition if bleeding occurs.
          Prevention:
Maintain proper hygiene.
Better and proper hand washing.
Better sanitation.
Use only mineral water.
Do chlorination of drinking water.
Use vegetables after properly washing by clean water.
Eat hygienic & home-made food.
Don’t drink contaminated & pouch water.
Don’t drink directly tap water.
Don’t eat raw vegetables.
Don’t eat contaminated & street food.

VACCINATION:
         To get prevention against ‘Typhoid Fever’:  is the best and very easy way.

“TAKE ONLY ONE DOSE OF VACCINE TO PROTECT TYPHOID FEVER”              
                            ‘PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE’.
